a photographer’s guide to the chinatown neighborhood in san francisco
our first @postcardphotoclub met last weekend in the chinatown neighborhood of san francisco. we get together once a month to go on photo safari somewhere new and talk shop, ask eachother for help and guidance and geek out on all things photography.
a few of us took the scenic route into the city by ferry and walked over to chinatown. grant avenue is the main street through chinatown. we started at the golden gate fortune cookie factory on ross to get a delicious cookie and watch the ladies shape the delicate cookies. it is a petite alleyway full of character and vibrant colors. afterwards, we spent a few hours just walking up and down grant avenue. with every pass, you see something you didn’t see before.
for lunch we ate at ‘house on nanking’ - the sweet owner likes to surprise his guests by ordering for them. every dish was better than the one before and we left very full and satisfied.
